sorry for my absence.

i don't work at renevati anymore where i would normally blog while i sat in front of a computer for 6 hours 4 days a week. well, to update...

i'm still so in love with todd.

were still getting married THIS friday.

so...thats awesome. and things.

basically, my life still is like a dream land.

and i love it. alllll theee timeeee.

just a quick reminder.

the countdown for our wedding is in the teens now. that is neat and that is all.

oh wait, one more thing...my husband is so good looking.

you will all DROOL when you see him in his tux on april 29th from 7-9 pm. but he is mine so.... sorry.

....okay one more thing. we took our bridals/groomals on saturday. first, our photographer is absolutely incredible and i love her. not only is she sooo talented, she is just the greatest. believe me. you won't want to ever use another photographer ever again. ever. if you want an incredible photographer checkkk outtt ashley buervenich :) second, my amazing cousins/best friends helped me get all beautified for the event. hales took some pictures if you want to seee :)

one day without shoes

if you know me, you know how much i love toms shoes.

no, not because they're trendy.

no, not because i think they're cute.

but because i love what they mean. don't get me wrong, i do love how they look and think they're the comfiest shoes i own, but what other shoe company do you know that gives up half their profits to buy shoes for those who aren't fortunate enough to afford their own? can you imagine the look on a child's face when you hand them their first pair of shoes?

i think what they stand for is amazing. one for one. every year toms's sponsors "one day without shoes." last year i participated in it while i was in mexico! it was such an amazing experience. (you better believe i walked around mexico ALL DAY without any shoes.

we even played in the rain with no shoes too! ...well rain that turned into the rio grand on our street)

i didn't get any diseases but i did walk away with a greater appreciation for my shoes. we are all so very blessed. you may think it's dumb, but walk a day without shoes, see how it makes your feet feel; see how much you love your shoes after you're finished. this day helps me to remember to be grateful for the little things in life. i am so very blessed and i strive to live worthy of those blessings everyday. (i count shoes as a blessing.)

my feet this year aren't quite as dirty as last year, but i loved today all the same :)

i get married in 29 days. t w e n t y n i n e. only 29 more goodbyes. scoreeee. that quite possibly could be the thing i am most excited about. just to cuddle up close to my love knowing when we go home, we're going to OUR home. not him taking me to mine and him going to his. oh baby i am so in love with him.

toddy and i are going to read my favorite book by june 15th. want to join us?? :) only 5 pages a day.. come on, thats nothing! you don't have a copy?? here, ill send you one. :)

yesterday toddy came to have lunch with me on campus. i'm a junior and he's just a little freshman...so he's seriously bustin' some ranks here. we even held hands. ya, judge us. dare you. ;)

i am so excited to be a teacher. did you know? i just want to have my own class riiighttt now only!

i know i just barely said this right down below, but i really REALLY miss my brown half.

day 28. fears.

i'm really afraid of being alone. all meanings of the word. that, and the dark. alone in the dark would probly make me die. yup.. straight up kill over.

day 27. family.

who is as blessed as me? i dare say no one. i don't think i'll ever understand why i am blessed with the things i am. all i know is to whom much is given, much is expected. so, i will continue to strive everyday to live worthy of these amazing people who i am privileged to call family. (am i using my who/whom correctly?). they are my everything. president brigham young explained that our families are not yet ours. the Lord has committed them to us to see how we will treat them. only if we are faithful will they be given to us forever. what we do on earth determines whether or not we will be worthy to become heavenly parents. the thought of not being able to be with them makes me....want to change the subject and not think about it. so i will strive everyday to be worthy. they bring me comfort, frustration, support, joy, annoyance, and all the things a family should. :) i'm so happy my parents met and made all of us. my family is seriously the best. and i'm not saying that lightly. they are the absolute BEST. not only my immediate family either.. my extended family, on both my mother and father's sides are the absolute best too! i have a LARGE family. (very large) i would rather hangout with my family than most anyone else. they are my greatest friends. the plan of salvation is SO inspired. our heavenly father is SO inspired. we couldn't survive without families. i'm so happy he sent me to mine.

another family that i am beyond blessed to be joining (soon!) is this incredible one. the furness family. words cannot express the love i have for them. i am so SO happy to become a furness lady :) they are the kind, generous, thoughtful, optimistic, musical family that you only read about it books... except, they are real. :) they are so accepting and loving and i couldn't be more blessed to know them. they are the most incredible examples to me and i will never be able to thank them enough for all they have done for me throughout the past few years. thank you for sharing your son and brother with me. oh how i love each of you!!

day 26. means a lot to me.

i bet you could have guessed this one, right? this here boy means more to me than i can express. i love everything about him. he is... my love. i honestly don't know what i would do without him. he's my true blue best friend. i tell him all my secrets. he's my biggest fan. he's my knight in shining amour. he's my (almost) husband. he's going to be the father of our family. i love everything about him. he's the definition of loyal. he chose me. we waited for each other. he's my happy thought. my sunshine on a cloudy day. he's my example. he's my motivation. he's the most amazing person i know. i know i'm not there yet, but i'm working on it. april 29th could be right now and that would be SO okay with me. my love, i can't wait to start this grand adventure with you. i love that i can get you to cave. i love when you smile crooked. i love that you are my high school sweetheart. i love that you listen. i love that you try to understand. i love you. i love when we read scriptures together and you help me learn old things in new ways. i love everything about you. i love when you get in the car and its really cold you hit the steering wheel really really fast with your hands. i love when the heat is up to high you freak out 'cause you can't breathe. i love that you touch your ears when your tired. and when your content. and pretty much all the time ;) i love you. i love when you say "but my name isn't even joseeee!". i love that when you asked me to marry you, you included the worlds "happily ever after." i love when we were dancing under the pavilion we spun around and around. i love that when we were in disneyland together you kissed me in front of the castle. i love when you text me 19 pages of "are you safe" when i forget to tell you i got to school safely. i love when you beat me at scrabble. i love when you text me a picture you drew of us holding hands just cause you felt like drawing me a picture. i love that you were my first boyfriend in 7th grade. i love you. i love that you had to call me back out side so we could have our first kiss. i love that we wrote every week while you were away serving a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. i love how much you loved being a missionary. i loved that you shared your experiences with me. you are all things good in the world. you make me happy when i am sad. i am the luckiest no battle plus one whatever you say. you once told me, "if you never have a dream, you can never have a dream come true." i love you. you were my dream, now you are my dream come true. i am the luckiest because i am living my own fairy tale. living my dream. living OUR dream. we're going to have a dream life. i feel like it's already starting out pretty well ;) i can't wait to move to texas (or colorado) with you. i can't wait to meet our puppy. i can't wait for him (or her) to squeeze in between us at night time. i can't wait to buy our first home. i can't wait to meet our kids. i can't wait for family home evening lessons that will consist of breaking up sword fights, rounding up crazy running children and ending with a family prayer. i can't wait for our honeymoon in disneyworld. i can't wait to (officially) be yours for eternity. i love when your face goes into the "oh no" face whenever i or someone gasps. you're the most thoughtful person in the world. i admire your spirituality. i admire your knowledge of the gospel. i admire you. you are not only regular amazing, but super duper amazing. i love that you spend boring sick nights with me. i love that we finally are finishing da vinci code. i love that you kept all the cards i got you while you were gone. i love all the things you teach me. i love that you're still reading this now ;) i love you. i honestly would not be who i am today without you. love isn't finding a perfect person. its seeing an imperfect person, perfectly. i love that our favorite movie is enchanted. i love that you want tails on your tux at our wedding. i love that you love french cuffs. i love your eyes. oh baby that needs to be repeated. i love your eyes i love your eyes i loveeeeee your eyes. i love that you hate it when i crack your middle knuckles. i love when you sing in the car. i LOVE when you sing in the car. i love when you tell me about what you read in the scriptures that was sooooooo good. :) i love when you burrow. i love that you always always open my door. i love when you play the piano and let me listen. i love that you tucked me into bed and talked me to sleep. i love you. i love YOU. after returning from mexico, i've found myself with a mad case of the 'travel bug'. i want to go anywhere and everywhere that isn't here. new zealand, ireland, and roma are a few of the top picks. maybe one day my almost husband and i will be able to travel to them all :) but on the very top of my list for places i'd love to travel is definitely this beautiful land...

i am inspired by this beautiful girl on a daily basis. she's nothing short of an angel. i can always count on her for smile. not just a 'haha you're funny' smile, but an actual genuine 'thank you for making me happy', smile. i strive to be like her someday. i reeeally really love my almost for real little sister. thanks for including me in the family drawing. :) thank you for sharing your brother with me. i just really love you. pretty freeeeeakin' stoked we get to kick it heaven together. forever family? i think so ♥

day 14. don't even want to imagine.

today is a photo of a person i can't imagine my life without. i am the luckiest person in the world to have SO many people in my life whom i love, and who return that love right back to me. however, when i saw the assigned photo for today, this is the first person who came to my mind. (obviously i couldn't choose just one photo, so forgive this nice picture binge.)

katie came into my life in 2004. the year i moved to texas for 3 years with my parents as mission presidents for my church. the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

for the 3 years i lived there, a friendship started. (without sounding too cliche, a friendship for the record books.) i say 'started' because those 3 years in comparison, are just a fraction of the time we will remain friends.

we have.. an understanding.

we've been on a countless number of adventures together.

she brings me more happiness than i can express. she just.. knows. always. she is the most caring, loyal and wonderful person in the entire world. she is the definition of a true friend.

i wish for everyone in life to have a friend like my sister bestie. the world would be a much, MUCH brighter and happier place if there were more katies around. however there is not, and i am lucky enough to the call the one and only MY best friend. MY sister. MY sunshine. i cannot and never wish to imagine my life without you, sister dear. you are the best thing for me and i am quite positive that by now, i would have died (and or failed school) with out you in my life. ;) thank you will never suffice, but thank you. for everything. everyday. i love you to the moon.

other wise known as BYU vocal point :) the radio these days likes produce less and less "music" and more and more... crap. so my ears choose to listen to vocal point. their new album 'back in blue' for their 20 year anniversary just came out this weekend! you can purchase it here. and here. aaaaand here. your ears will thank you. then, if you think you like them on cd, just wait til you see them in concert. oh baby! you will fall in love. i am 100% positive. if you go to a vocal point concert and you don't fall in love, i will give you 5 billion dollars. thats how sure i am. (any relation i may or may not have to the dashing blonde one with glasses, the one that sings like a greek god, is completely coincidental.)
